Transformational Experience
Have you ever had one of those days where it feels like the end of the world? You went through a breakup, you didn’t get the job or school you wanted, or maybe you have a loved one in the hospital because of an accident. Days where you feel the pressure on your chest and you can’t breathe.
You look for an escape and type “best coffee shop near me” into Google. You find one that looks promising. As soon as you open the door, you hear HELLO, WELCOME! in such an enthusiastic tone that it wakes you up faster than water splashing your face.
As you walk to the counter, you’re amazed by the monstera plants and the glow of neon lights filling your body with energy.
You meet the barista and order your go-to comfort drink: a hot latte. Then, out of nowhere, the barista tells you about coffee beans you’ve never heard of before. Whiskey? Rum-infused? After taking your order, the barista shares that the beans are hand-picked “From Farm to Cup” and that the coffee shop owns its own farm in Maricao, Puerto Rico. This was the first time you’ve ever heard of a coffee shop doing that. Then they place a beautiful hot latte in front of you, with silky-smooth milk and symmetrical circles forming a perfect tulip.
You take a sip, and a rush of flavors hits your mouth like fireworks going off on your taste buds. You look up at your barista with a smile, and they say, “Thank you for supporting local.”
In that moment… that five-minute interaction became the space you needed to remember that even on the hardest days, there are small, special moments worth holding onto.

We believe that only the coolest humans work at 787 Coffee. We truly build a community based on four pillars: Social, Coffee, Sales, and Adaptable. Just like our coffee cherries from our farm in Hacienda Iluminada, every single team member is handpicked. Here’s why:

In a time where every day we are glued to our phones, computers, and almost anything you can hold in your hand that blinks, it’s nice to go to a place where someone can look you in the eye. Where you’re working hard, studying for that exam, and out of nowhere you look up. Like a magic trick, a cup of water is right next to you.
Most places you go, it feels like everyone wants to get something out of you instead of asking what they can give. These are the type of baristas we LOVE working with the ones who bring quirky jokes, ask you about your day and genuinely listen, and make sure you leave better than when you first came in.
COFFEE
Some humans need their morning coffee to start the day. We NEED our coffee to live. We have the best quality coffee coming from ethically sourced rural farms, all of it handpicked coffee cherries grown with sustainable practices so you can have the best coffee for your body. We believe if it’s good for the EARTH, it’s good for YOU.
We use top-quality Italian espresso machines in our coffee shops. We believe that baristas are truly artists and that every single hot drink should be an extension of their personality, with beautiful latte art and silky milk texture steamed to perfection. It’s more than just making a coffee drink. It’s the moment you realize you’re about to have the best cappuccino you’ve ever had in your life.

787 Coffee went from a tiny store on East 7th Street in New York City, the size of a shoebox, in 2016. Now we are waving our Puerto Rican flag across the U.S. in cities like El Paso, TX, Houston, TX, and Westfield, NJ. Our team is full of innovators, dreamers, and most importantly, humans that make shIT happen.
Our vision is to have 100 coffee shops nationally and internationally. We want to help our communities in Maricao, Puerto Rico. Support the small rural farmers of the world. And impact our caffeinated humans with ethical and sustainable single-origin specialty coffee — one interaction at a time, one coffee cup at a time, one customer at a time.

Our coffee shops are designed like a museum. Every single one of them is like a child with its own personality, but with the same DNA. We want YOU to feel like you’re stepping into a little piece of Puerto Rico, no passport required.
