Born in the mountains of Maricao, Puerto Rico, and raised in New York City after Hurricane Maria, we’ve expanded thoughtfully, continuing our journey in Texas and planning to grow in key cities across the USA. At our core, we remain a Puerto Rican company with a farm in Puerto Rico, committed to bringing value to the island and sharing Puerto Rico’s finest coffee with the world. Collaborating with neighboring farms that share our dedication to sustainable and eco-friendly practices, like those we uphold at Hacienda Iluminada, we ensure our growth supports the earth, the mountains—the very lungs of Puerto Rico. With one co-founder proudly Puerto Rican and the other Mexican-American, representing our origins and the broader Latino community is woven into our DNA. Our team and community embody this spirit, taking pride in every step of the journey as we deliver coffee that reflects our heritage, values, and passion.
A New Origin for a Growing Brand
As 787 Coffee continues to expand, with 13 new stores planned for the upcoming year, the company is unveiling an innovative model that puts more power in the hands of its customers. Coffee lovers will have the unique opportunity to choose the origin of the beans they enjoy with every cup. While Puerto Rican coffee will always remain at the heart of the brand, we own our coffee farm in Puerto Rico, this new approach celebrates diversity and inclusivity by featuring other origins, starting with Mexico.
Mexico’s Specialty coffee will initially be paired with some of 787 Coffee’s fan-favorite infusions, including tequila-infused, mezcal-infused, and whiskey-infused beans. These options promise to deliver bold, rich flavors that enhance the natural profiles of Mexican specialty coffee, offering a caffeinated journey that’s as exciting as it is delicious.

Its roots run deep in the coffee culture of Puerto Rico, but its wings have spread far and wide. The brand has grown to over 30 locations, with a strong presence in New York City and Texas.
El Paso was the first city in Texas to welcome 787 Coffee, and the company’s team is gearing up to open their first Houston location in 2025. This expansion is fueled by a desire to bring Puerto Rico’s finest coffee to more people, sharing not just coffee but the culture, values, and stories that make the brand so special.
